Weekend Recap: January 3rd to 5th

The first weekend back from the holiday break saw the Edson Eagles continue their league leading winning ways, with an 11-3 win against the Redwater Pioneers at home Friday, followed by an  8-3 High Prairie Red Wings win on Saturday. Austin Berezowski led the way for Edson with 3 goals on Friday and 2 on Saturday. Noah Cunningham's 2 goal and assist on Saturday were not enough to lift the Wings. In the South, the Claresholm Thunder dropped 2, first to the Vulcan Rampage on Saturday where they saw a tight game get away on them in the third, followed by a 10-0 loss to the south-leading Crowsnest Crush on Sunday. Nikylo Emerson and Jaxson Bolt both had standout games for the Rampage, with 4 goals, and 3 goals, respectively. The other Southern Division game saw the Crush beat the Rampage 6-3 in Crowsnest, led by a Delane Rabbit hat trick.

Next Weekend is the league All Star Showcase in Crowsnest, on Saturday January 11, which will feature a skills competition preceding the game, followed by a banquet afterwards. Live Stream info will be available soon!
