Weekend Highlights: Dec 13 - Dec 15

After dropping 2 straight, this past weekend the Edson Eagles showed why they deserve to remain "perched" atop the NJHL standings. In their southern road swing they handily beat all 3 teams, and the weekend saw Andreas Kehl reclaim the league scoring leader position, with 79 points. The Crowsnest Crush won both of its games against its southern counterparts with 10-2 (vs. Claresholm Thunder) and 9-3 (Vulcan Rampage) victories. The High Prairie Red Wings beat the Northern Alberta Lightning 6-5 on Friday action, care of Noah Cunningham's game winner. The next night, the Lightning lost another heartbreaker 4-3 to the Redwater Pioneers, courtesy of Grant Cameron and his 2 goal, one assist performance. The other Saturday game saw the Lac La Biche Lakers route the Red Wings 8-3, led by an impressive 4 goal, 2 assist performance by Payton Moneyas. Sunday saw another Lakers win, this time over the Pioneers 9-2, which included a hat trick by Ethan Christian.
