NJHL Weekend Highlights; November 15th - 17th

The NJHL had another thrilling weekend of action, with fast-paced games, clutch performances, and plenty of drama on the ice. Here's a look at all the highlights from this weekend’s matchups:


Friday Night Frenzy


The Edson Eagles secured a convincing 7-3 win over High Prairie, led by an explosive performance from Austin Berezowski. The forward recorded four goals and one assist, totaling five points on the night. With a balanced effort and strong goaltending, the Eagles took control and never looked back, improving their record as the leagues top team. 


In the Lakers vs Thunder game, Raiden Perkins delivered another solid performance, scoring five goals to lead the Lac La Biche Lakers to a 7-5 win over the Claresholm Thunder. Claresholm started strong, holding a 3-1 lead through to the second period, but the lakers found their rhythm in the latter half of the second period with three goals in the second and three more in the third, Lac La Biche surged to a 7-4 lead, with Claresholm adding a late goal that wasn’t enough to complete the comeback.


Crowsnest Crush Topples Vulcan Rampage 5-3 in Hard-Fought Battle

The Crowsnest Crush edged out the Vulcan Rampage 5-3 in a tightly contested game that saw both teams trading chances throughout the night. Despite a narrow margin in shots, with Crowsnest firing 36 and Vulcan registering 33, the Crush proved to be the more opportunistic team.

After the Rampage took the first goal, Crowsnest followed with two quick goals shortly after, but Vulcan responded, with a 2-2 tie heading into the second period. The second period brought one goal for the Crowsnest Crush. The Rampage fought hard in the third period, but the Crush capitalized on key opportunities, adding two more goals to secure the 5-3 victory.

Both teams displayed strong goaltending, but it was Crowsnest’s efficient offense and timely defensive plays that ultimately made the difference, as they held off Vulcan's late push for the win.


The Vulcan Rampage triumphed 8-6 over the Lac La Biche Lakers in an exciting back-and-forth game. Both teams fired 41 shots on goal, but Vulcan's offensive depth and timely scoring proved to be the difference. The Lakers fought hard throughout the game, but the Rampage gained the lead after scoring five goals in the third period. Lac La Biche Lakers lead the game until they were tied up by Rampage #18 Jonah Fornier, who also clinched the final goal of the the game. 


Sunday Funday

The high-scoring affair between Crowsnest Crush and Lac La Biche Lakers, had fans on the edge of their seats. Crowsnest Crush offense was clicking on all cylinders winning the game with 6 goals and a shutout!
